Cultural diversity in the US influences many customs in business operations such as manners and gestures for example. Language barriers which are how loud, assertive and aggressive a certain country speaks are also effected by cultural diversity. Cultural diversity will as well effect the target audience or who the campaign or ad is aimed towards gender wise for example. Technology is of course effected due to different time zones if you were to video conference call someone In another part of the world. It also will effect politics because some countries have more government pride than others which makes them more confident in buying from other companies, to avoid any conflict it is best to not bring up any political matters.
There are a few purposes of communication through persuasion, understanding, and entertaining. Using persuasion will allow you to use someone elses statement to strengthen your view on a certain subject. Understanding is used to relate more with another person and enhance your relationship with them. Entertaining makes communicating more enjoyable for both sides and can bring up topics no one would have thought of before.
Communication receiving or listening is another grand subject of communication fundamentals. Listening is receiving information and giving information meaning. It is an intellectual and emotional process that searches for a meaning and understanding in a message. Listening is used to develop interpersonal communication by enhancing listening skills. Effective listening requires you to search for the meaning and understanding of a message.
In order to deliver an assertive message you must be honest, self enhancing, precise, socially responsible and respectful to the rights of others. To handle assertive persuasion you must look for areas of agreement and be reasonable, not right. To handle criticism you should listen and observe, ask yourself questions to help regain perspective, and state your position. Some barriers to effective communication include poorly expressed messages, hidden assumptions, conflicting information, and group influence. Some tips to improve your communication skills are clarity, symbolic meaning, consulting with others, sensitivity to the listener, and careful timing.
Communication sending also happens to be a big part of communication fundamentals. Communication is the ability to send and receive a message. Methods of communication include oral, nonverbal, written and listening. The objective of communication sending is to enhance interpersonal communication by enriching the way we send messages. Communication sending will help you in identifying the various methods of sending messages and learning how to use each method appropriately. Content is a very important part of communication sending and the key to sending an effective message is delivery. There are 3 V's to communication and they are Verbal, your words, Vocal, your voice, and Visual, your face and body.
